Hopeful Places for Health and Wellbeing

Dr. Jenny Roe

Thursday December 4th 2014 at 6.30 PM
City Assembly House, South William Street, Dublin 2 MAP

Hopeful places are special restorative ‘hot spots’ that offer sanctuary and recovery from the trauma of difficult life experiences, including hospitalisation or living with a life-long chronic health condition. In this presentation, Dr Jenny Roe will present her research in healthcare settings, showing how good integrative design – colour, lighting and access to nature – can positively impact on patient, carer and staff wellbeing.

Jenny Roe is an Environmental Psychologist and Research Leader in Health and Wellbeing for the Stockholm Environment Institute, a global research institute working towards better understanding of sustainability and health. Prior to an academic career, she was Principal Landscape Architect with Sprunt, a multi-disciplinary architectural practice with offices in London and Johannesburg.
