The Role
The School is seeking to appoint an innovative and creative Course Director to lead its BA (Hons) Landscape Architecture course. The course is an integral component of a wider, developing Landscape programme, which offers a history of innovative and enterprising teaching practice, working with partner organisations on landscape and landscape infrastructure projects at all scales, both in the UK and internationally. The post represents a significant opportunity for a committed individual to develop, reflect upon and ultimately to transform both the practice and teaching of the discipline, with reference to this strong foundation. A key focus will be on developing the course within the wider context of the School and, in particular, establishing relationships with the highly regarded Architecture programme.

Projects include residential and commercial planning applications, public realm, highway, infrastructure, alternative energy. Job Description
The Tree Council of Ireland is seeking an Office Administrator to take on a varied and interesting workload and provide the administrative support within its organisation.  The role involves general office management, book-keeping and administrative tasks.  The successful applicant will be involved in many activities and will be a key player in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the Council’s operation.

Tasks and Responsibilities
·       Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, President, and other staff should the situation arise
·      Use a range of office software including email, word-processing, spreadsheets and databases
·      Manage and update website and maintain the Council’s IT support
·      Maintain and manage filing systems, memberships and records; administrative, electronic and other
·      Contribute to the continuous improvement of administrative processes
·      Act as receptionist, answer the telephone and respond to enquiries

·         Liaise with member organisations schools, local authorities, corporate sponsors and other agencies

·         Assist in the preparation of end of year accounts and tax returns

·         Act as Office Manager and manage the Council’s premises and supplies accordingly
·         Oversee the training and induction of volunteer administrative support staff

·         Represent the Tree Council of Ireland on promotional stands at events

The Landscape Architecture Program at the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning in the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology invites applications for one or more positions at the senior lecturer or associate professor level. The appointments may start as early as October 1, 2011. Salary and compensation are compatible with Israeli university standards.

Qualifications
The successful candidates will demonstrate exemplary scholarship and a strong teaching record in their field, appropriate to their current rank. They will be expected to take a leadership role in building the first Master of Landscape Architecture program in Israel and in contributing to the existing undergraduate program.  Qualified candidates are expected to hold the terminal degree in their discipline, and present a body of published scholarship and/or design portfolio. Candidates should hold an M.L.A. or an advanced degree in a related field . A Ph.D. degree (or equivalent degree) in landscape architecture or in a related field  is an advantage. Responsibilities will include teaching in the core undergraduate and graduate curriculum, including design studios, lectures, and seminars; supervising Master‚s theses and Ph.D. dissertations, conducting cutting-edge research, and participating in faculty and Technion activities.
Most courses are taught in Hebrew, however, teaching may be conducted in English. Applicants must have a demonstrated interest and track record in one or more of the following areas:

-landscape and urban design
-landscape ecology/environmental planning
-digital media

Assistant Professor in Landscape Architecture

Founded in 1911, The University of Hong Kong is committed to the highest international standards of excellence in teaching and research, and has been at the international forefront of academic scholarship for many years.

Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Professor (full-time or fractional) in the Division of Landscape Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture, from as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
