Dear Sir/Madam,
It is a pleasure to announce the first edition of the Acanthus Prize of the European Route of Historic Gardens (ERHG). The Prize has been organized by the ERHG scientific committee with the purpose of acknowledging and rewarding outstanding initiatives in the preservation, restoration and promotion of historic gardens.
The launch of the Acanthus Prize reflects the ERHG commitment to innovation, research and sustainability and aims to enhance public awareness of the value of historic gardens, their cultural and ecological significance, and the challenges associated with their conservation and management.
The timeline for award submissions starts on October 1st and ends on December 31st. For full nomination criteria, category descriptions, and guidance on how to apply, please consult the official Resolution on the Rules Governing the Acanthus Prize.
We encourage you to submit your initiatives and/or share this information with other individuals, institutions, and organizations from Member States of the Council of Europe that might be interested.
We will hold the first awards' ceremony at our 2026 General Assembly and IX Annual Forum, to be celebrated at the premises of our partner, The National Gardens of Athens, and coinciding with our association's 10th anniversary.
For questions regarding eligibility, categories, or submission procedures, please contact: [email protected]
Kind regards,
