Restoring Land, Restoring Hope: IFLA's COP17 in Review
The seventeenth Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification closed in Ulaanbaatar on 28 August after ten days of negotiation under the theme "Restoring Land. Restoring Hope." For IFLA members, COP17 was a chance to put landscape-led design in front of 197 Parties at a moment when drought, rangeland loss and soil degradation are being treated, at last, as design failures rather than purely environmental ones.
