We are pleased to inform you about Urbanscapes 2026 – Ostrava, an international conference organised by the Czech Association for Landscape Architecture, taking place in Ostrava from 21–23 April 2026.

Under the theme “Landscape, Transformation, Opportunity”, the conference will focus on how highly urbanised and post-industrial landscapes can be transformed sustainably in the 21st century. It will explore the balance between conservation and development, and the role of landscape architecture, planning, and design in strengthening resilience, identity, liveability, and long-term economic and environmental value.

Urbanscapes 2026 will bring together international experts from landscape architecture, architecture, planning, research, and practice to share strategies, case studies, and innovative approaches to:

  • post-industrial landscape regeneration
  • urban and landscape transformation
  • ecological restoration and nature-based solutions
  • social cohesion, cultural identity, and quality of life
  • and the economic value of landscape-led development.

The programme includes keynote lectures, thematic sessions, panel discussions, student contributions, networking events, and site excursions in and around Ostrava. All lectures will be simultaneously interpreted (English–Czech).
