Westmeath County Council, in partnership with the Heritage Council, has prepared the Draft Westmeath Biodiversity Action Plan 2025–2031, which sets out a strategic framework for the conservation, enhancement, and promotion of biodiversity across the county.

The Council is now undertaking a period of public consultation on the Draft Plan and invites your organisation to make a submission or observation as part of this statutory process.

Submissions or observations are invited from all relevant stakeholders and must be received no later than: 5.00pm on Tuesday, 1st July 2025

Submissions should include:

The full name and address of the person or body making the submission

Where relevant, the name of the organisation represented

Submissions should be made in one format only, either:

Online at: https://consult.westmeathcoco.ie/en/browse

or

In writing to:

Administrative Officer, Forward Planning, Westmeath County Council, Civic Offices, Mount Street, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, N91 FH4N

All submissions received within the consultation period will be taken into consideration prior to the finalisation and adoption of the Westmeath Biodiversity Action Plan 2025–2031.
