Geitz & Partner GbR - company Overview

The landscape architecture firm Geitz & Partner GbR located in Stuttgart was founded in 1999 by three partners, landscape architects Peter Geitz and Thomas Kusche and hydrologist Holger Kappich. In our office everything revolves around water.

Our team consists of the three partners and around 10 employees from the fields of landscape architecture, geography, environmental science and civil engineering, plus freelancers and students. Depending on the project, Geitz & Partner also collaborate with other specialist firms and research institutions.

Our projects are predominantly located in the region of Stuttgart, occasionally projects do take us to other parts of Germany and further abroad (even as far as Singapore). Mostly our clients are from the public sector.

Geitz & Partner’s focus is on the planning and design of water bodies (streams, rivers, dams, lakes, wetlands …) and on the associated hydraulic engineering. Although we do cover other aspects of environmental planning and landscape design.

We redesign degraded water courses and standing water bodies according to ecological principles, create multifunctional open spaces within the urban environment and develop flood protection measures. For many of these types of projects we provide the associated hydrological and hydraulic modelling, such as rainfall-runoff modelling, water level calculations and ecohydraulics in-house. Moreover, we have a wealth of experience in conceiving, planning, dimensioning and implementing technical and biological bank protection. We continuously strive to refine construction techniques in soil bioengineering in both earthworks and hydraulic construction. In addition to planning and design, we further oversee the execution and manage the project even until after nature takes its course.
