The Irish Landscape Institute is delighted to introduce this Walking Tour in Wexford. We will visit two sites: the magnificent Johnstown Castle Gardens and Kent Stainless factory, an 8000msq manufacturing space
Johnstown Castle Estate Gardens, Wexford
Private Garden Tour at Johnstown Castle Estate by head gardener Ciarán Fitzgerald
Johnstown Castle gardens and lakes were developed by the Grogan family, who brought their vision to life with the help of the extraordinary 19th-century garden designer Daniel Robertson, who also designed the impressive gardens at the Powerscourt Estate and Wells House.
The 4-acre walled gardens and hothouses, which were originally laid out between 1844 -1851, have been painstakingly restored by the Irish Heritage Trust gardening team with the support of over 100 local volunteers, so they can be enjoyed by locals and visitors throughout the seasons for centuries to come.
The grounds include a woodland garden; lush prairie planting in the walled garden; acres of native hay meadows and extended lakeside trails with views across the castle’s gothic towers, picturesque waterfall, follies, and statues.
Kent Stainless Factory Tour, Wexford
Kent Stainless
We’d love to invite members of the Irish Landscape Institute to join us at Kent Stainless for a relaxed and informative factory tour.
This is a chance to get a closer look at how we design and manufacture the kinds of stainless steel elements you regularly specify, with a particular focus on landscape features like planter edging, bespoke planters, street furniture, and custom detailing.
Why come along?
If you’re involved in shaping outdoor spaces, this visit will give you a better feel for what’s possible when design meets fabrication. You’ll get:
A clearer understanding of how stainless steel can be used creatively in landscape projects
Insight into how we help turn design concepts into practical, buildable solutions
A look at the different finishes, profiles, and detailing options available
The opportunity to chat through ideas, details, or challenges you’ve come across in your own projects
What to expect on the day
We’ll walk you through the factory floor and show you how products like planter edging systems, and architectural landscape features are made — from cutting and forming, right through to finishing and quality checks.
There’ll also be plenty of opportunities to see real examples up close and ask questions along the way.
At Kent, we work closely with landscape architects from early-stage design right through to delivery, so this is very much about sharing ideas as much as showing what we do.
We’d really enjoy having you along.
Kind Regards,
Brendan Cloney,
Business Development Manager
